EWTN live Television and Radio broadcasts can be accessed directly on your computer from the Internet.  Popular programmes are also archived and can be downloaded on-demand from the website.

By internet you can also access EWTN’s Home Website with Catholic news from around the globe, experts’ answers to questions about faith, a catechetical website for children and programming information. You can also access EWTN’s extensive collection of Church documents – one of the largest collections available online.

Broadcasts are available directly on EWTN's home website under "Multimedia".  Live broadcasts in English and in Spanish, and in English to each of the global regions, can be accessed as streaming windows media (.wmv files).  Windows computers are generally able to play windows media directly with the Windows Media Player.  Users of Apple Macintosh computers may need to download and install Windows Media Components for QuickTime by Flip4Mac to play windows media.

The US radio broadcasts are currently available as streaming media and the European and UK broadcast should also soon be available.

To receive television by streaming - with a constant picture of good quality and clarity - you’ll probably need a broadband connection of at least 2Mb. Streaming video to your computer can also quickly use up your monthly broadband download limits, so you should be wary of these.  There can be " fair usage policies" even with "unlimited broadband".  You could stream radio satisfactorily with a slower internet connection and less concern for monthly download limits.  It can be pleasant to listen to EWTN radio while doing other work on your computer.

Television can be viewed ‘full screen’ on a computer monitor – which is comparable with watching on a television set. Alternatively, you can watch from the internet on your actual television if your computer and television both have a VGA or HDMI socket to connect. High definition HDMI connections allow for very high quality. You could also send streaming radio to your audio system or television set with an appropriate connection.

If you have an older CRT television - with a deep back - then it’s very unlikely that you’ll have a VGA or HDMI socket to connect to your PC. You could buy a scan converter for around £65 which would allow you to connect the VGA cable from your PC to the RCA phono socket on your TV - though the quality may be quite poor You can get EWTN by satellite, either via Sky or via your own dish and receiver.
