Pray for these celebrities!

More than 150 Hollywood celebrities signed a petition saying the Supreme Court’s possible overturning of Roe v. Wade will rob them of their power as women.

The celebrities penned the petition in the New York Times following the draft leak of Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which allegedly overturns Roe v. Wade altogether.

If leak reports remain consistent, the Supreme Court’s decision will send the abortion issue to state legislative branches. The states will then have the power to decide on abortion laws. Overturning Roe does not outlaw abortion.

The celebrity petition claims that if the Supreme Court overturns the abortion case, “our power to plan our own futures and control our own bodies depends on our ability to access sexual and reproductive healthcare, including abortion.”

“We are the new generation stepping into our power,” the Planned Parenthood-sponsored petition reads. “Now we are being robbed of our power. We will not go back and we will not back down.”

Some of these celebrities include Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Billie Ellish, Olivia Rodrigo, Kendall Jenner, and Hailee Bieber.

Here’s the full petition below:

Catechism of the Catholic Church teaching on abortion:

“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” (CCC 2270)

“Since the first century, the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law…” (CCC 2271)

Pray for an end to abortion in the United States! 🙏📿🙏
